If you look
at development of Punjab especially Ludhiana in the past main development was
due to Industrial development and agricultural growth by healthy and hardworking
Punjabis who were welcomed everywhere on earth even today.
Drugs: Punjab became rich and so came migrant labour at cheaper cost
and our human force started migrating to other countries for better future.
Some left
behind for want to resources and opportunities fell prey to drugs, some got
idle because of migrants and farm machines also got involved in it. And not to
say here politicians are involved in this trade which needs to tackled if we
want our Punjab to come back to its GLORY.
Agriculture: This sector is involved in Wheat
and paddy cycle, there is no political will to come out of this cycle and paddy
is not suitable as it consuming our resources more than the outcome. Many
farmers are committing suicide when they are debt ridden. There must be
infrastructure to handle or market other farm products like maize, vegetables,
pulses, oil seeds and farmers must be given incentives on non-paddy or wheat
crops. Cold chains and cold transportation is need of Punjab.
Industry : Ludhiana was once known as
Manchester of India, consisting of small scale industries. It was backbone of
Ludhiana, it had seen black days of militancy yet it came out of that. But nothing
has been done for it like was done during Partap Singh Kairon’s regime.
Industry is migrating to other states where there are sops or tax benefits.
There are rumors that top politicians demanded some bread and bicycles but
doing nothing to help small scale sector instead only bringing Mukesh Ambani
and big shots for some vested interests.
Apart from internal threats Industry is facing external threats like that
of China, if not stopped the remaining industries will shut it doors and
entrepreneur will register its name at employment exchange.
Education :
PAU played a vital
role in that. Imagine if it was not there?, should there be not more like IIM’s
or IIT’s for world class education as our cream of students go abroad for study
and when they come back they don’t find this place worth living and they try to
settle abroad and brain drain is going on and countries like USA Europe Gulf
are being benefited.
Land Mafia: This mafia is
active with help of politicians of past as well present regime. They are
grabbing public as well as private properties, the whole public system is
working under it.
Public transport: Not to say who owns buses with or
without permits, and havoc they create on roads, as they have blessings.
Medical: Civil hospital is in bad shape, the private nursing
home are flourishing, there is no system of Generic medicines, There should be
a world class hospital with college at Ludhiana which should cater to all
segments of society like AIIMS at Delhi or PGI at Chandigarh.
Health: Cancer, TB and other serious
ailments are on the rise, most of them are caused due to adulteration in food
articles or unethical use of inputs like pesticides, oxytocin and many such
products over which Govt. is not serious, and lot of problems are being faced
by public. This department must be very strict and lot of corruption in this
field and needs overhaul.
Drinking Water: Water
table of Ludhiana is falling and is being polluted by so many sources.
Pollution : Not to speak
of this department, the quality of air because of industrial or traffic smoke,
water discharge , sewerage and solid waste management and toxic wastes from
hospitals is dumped everywhere.
Roads : Lot of public time
is wasted for bad roads or wrong planning, before undertaking any project there
are no alternate routes created. Roads are in bad shapes most of them with
potholes without street lights, only few prominent roads are being taken care
of.
Unfinished projects : City centre , flyover at Sherpur chowk, These two projects
have been delayed beyond limits.
Punjab govt never took Nhai n
Soma for the delays of GT Road to court. We all are bearing the burnt. While
they are still collecting the Toll
For City Centre Badals N
Amrinder seem to have sum treaty.
